Ask for an item or a medicine form, clarify its name and pack size, and respond as a pharmacist.
How the language works
Mağan … kerek means “I need …”; mağan identifies the person who needs something. Bar ma? asks whether something is available; ma is a separate word. In Sızderde tañğyş bar ma?, sızderde means “at your place”, here the pharmacy. After neşe, the noun stays singular: neşe tabletka. Därınıñ tabletka türı means “the tablet form of the medicine”: this concerns its form, not whether it is suitable for a person.

Check your understanding
Choose an answer before opening the explanation. Then explain your choice.
1. The customer is unsure how to pronounce the name. You are the pharmacist. How do you ask to see it?
- Būl därı kımge arnalğan?
- Därınıñ atauyn körsete alasyz ba?
- Bır qaptamada neşe tabletka bar?
- Özıme alamyn.
Answer and explanation
Därınıñ atauyn körsete alasyz ba?
Atauyn means “its name”; körsete alasyz ba? means “could you show it?”. This asks to check the name without guessing.
2. How do you ask specifically about the number of tablets in a pack?
- Därınıñ qai türı qajet?
- Sızge qalai kömektese alamyn?
- Būl därınıñ tabletka türı bar ma?
- Bır qaptamada neşe tabletka bar?
Answer and explanation
Bır qaptamada neşe tabletka bar?
Neşe asks “how many”; qaptamada means “in the pack”. This concerns pack contents, not the dose to take.
3. Choose the correct form for “I need a thermometer”.
- Mağan termometr kerek.
- Menı termometr kerek.
- Menen termometr kerek.
- Menıñ termometr kerek.
Answer and explanation
Mağan termometr kerek.
This construction uses the dative: mağan means “to me”. Menı is the accusative, menen means “from me”, and menıñ expresses possession.
Make it your own

- I made a request with mağan … kerek
- I asked about the item or its form
- As the pharmacist, I clarified the request without guessing
